About me
I am a fully qualified counsellor, accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP), the UK's leading professional organisation. I am also an accredited member of COSRT and ATSAT registered. I am also a qualified supervisor, facilitating the needs of other counsellors and working within the BACP ethical framework.
I have a wealth of experience working with individual adults and young people and I also work with couples. I regularly see clients with issues such as depression, anxiety, self esteem, relationship issues including sexual difficulties, domestic abuse, pain, trauma, stress, bereavement and loss and other issues which could be causing a significant detrimental impact.
I personally as well as professionally have discovered the benefits of counselling; talking to someone who is independent has helped me to understand myself better and has enabled me to find solutions and to move forward.
“One thing I feel clear about is that it’s important not to let your life live you. Otherwise, you end up at forty feeling you haven’t really lived. What have I learned? Perhaps to live now, so that at fifty I won’t look back upon my forties with regret.” Irvin Yalom
I gained an Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy along with a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Certificate in Couples Counselling, Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy, Dimple in Sex Addiction and a Diploma in Supervision along with a wide range of additional training including Addiction, Bereavement, Stress, Suicide intervention and Child and Vulnerable Adult protection. I have also worked with Cruse Bereavement, Childline (NSPCC), New Life Counselling, Fresh Minds Education and currently for Relate NI.
I am fully insured, DBS checked and follow data protection policy and guidelines. .
